For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
Greetings brothers and sisters in the name of Christ Jesus!
Ring the bells! Ring the bells! Let the whole world know Christ was born in Bethlehem many years ago. Gather together young and old and let’s re-hear the Christmas story. Let us remember that Christ has come, Christ is with us and Christ is returning for His church! Let us once again hear about the wise men who followed a star to Bethlehem to witness and bring offerings to our Lord, a newborn babe. Let us once again feel the fear of the shepherds as the angels announced to them our Saviors birth. Let us sing merrily our songs of good cheer, light the advent candles and hang the greens. Let us embrace one another and welcome once again, the spirit of Christmas.
Send your prayers around the world. Pray that the light of Christ, fall upon our men and women in service. Pray that their families receive gifts of love, peace and joy. Pray that our lost youth, the homeless and the sick will find comfort and healing during our time of celebration.
As Christmas draws near and things get busy, take a moment and breath. Hug your spouse and cuddle your children. Say hello to your neighbor and sit down with a friend. When you’re hanging the lights and decorating the tree, shopping for last minute gifts and preparing the best meal ever, remember that there was a baby out in a cold dark manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes, silently and happily sleeping because He knew He was saving your life and the happiness you feel right now will last forever.
