Greetings friends, and welcome to New Hope Church.
Scripture tells us how Jesus called out to Peter, James and John saying to them, “Come, follow Me and I will make you fishers of men” (Mark 1:17). At the invitation, they laid aside what they were doing and immediately followed the Lord.
Along the path Jesus told others, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me” (Mark 8:34).
Hi, I am Jim Bringman, pastor of New Hope and I share these precepts of Scripture with you to suggest that to truly be one with Jesus we must have a renewed heart. This renewal begins with true submission and an unquenchable desire to be with Jesus; to trust Him, to long for Him, and to want to be in His presence above anything else!
That is why we gather together at New Hope. Our relationship is not with a building, it is with a person, our Savior, Jesus Christ! He rescued us, and if we find ourselves coming to church out of a sense of duty, routine, or self-need, we need to pause and ask the Holy Spirit to lead us into remembrance of why we gather for worship, and to renew our minds and hearts with the desire to reverently acknowledge Christ’s presence and be ready to willingly serve the needs of others.
In Hebrews (10:24-25) Paul writes, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching.”
Together, by the grace of God, we have been given the opportunity to be a beacon of light to our communities. With God’s trust, we have been given the privilege to share the Good News of God’s gift of eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ to everyone.
At New Hope Church your relationship with Jesus Christ, fellowship with His body, and your kingdom opportunities are very important to us. It is our prayer that together we can submit to His Word, submit to the His Call and submit to His Commission in order to stay on the path Jesus has paved for us!
So, “welcome” beloved to New Hope Church. “Welcome” to the opportunities for service and outreach that lie ahead. “Welcome” laborer and beloved, welcome home!
